Jim Hopper, often referred to as Chief Hopper, is a central character in the Netflix TV show Stranger Things. He first appears in the show's inaugural episode, "Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers."
Hopper begins the series as the jaded and cynical police chief of Hawkins, Indiana. He is haunted by the loss of his young daughter Sarah to cancer, leading to substance abuse and a detached attitude toward his job.
